Project Runway alum, Joe Faris and business woman Denise Illitch present this year's Fashion in Detroit 2012.
MotorCity Casino will be the host of this event on March 10, 2012 starting at 12 noon. In 2009, Joe Faris (co-founder of FID) decided to launch this event annually to showcase the many talents and fashion designers of the Detroit area for the world to see and experience. The event will include local and national designers, meet and greets, a “Market Detroit” pop-up shop, a Detroit sports lounge, a VIP private reception and an Afterglow bash. There will also be a social media lounge hosted by StyleCaster.com for the online media and bloggers.
The show will feature designers such as Angela McBride creator of Peace Love Spandex, Barbara May creator of BMay Handbags, Cyntia LaMaide, jewelry artist Dina La Montagne, Fotoula Lambros, handbag designers Jenna Kator and Julie Lindsay, avant-garde designer Kelly Lynne and jewelry designer Marlaina Stone.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com. The Fashion Elite tickets are on sale for 100.00 with premier runway seating and afterglow access. The Fashionista tickets are on sale for 25.00 including seating for all runway shows, gift bags, and a souvenir guidebook. There is also eligibility for high-end giveaways. The show will also give one talented Michigan-based fashion designer a grant to showcase their Fall/Winter 2012 collection to industry major players and fashion buyers.
